Jazz Studies — Fall 2008

Now accepting applications for the Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies.

Students will be offered training and extensive performance opportunities in both traditional and contemporary jazz styles. They will gain a solid foundation in performance and history that will allow them to enter the professional music world or pursue advanced study.

Students take advantage of the rich resources of New York City, one of the world's great jazz centers, located 30 minutes from campus. Whether on campus through access to outstanding faculty and guest artists, or in the City, our students participate in a rich listening and learning environment.

Students may take a broad range of courses at Montclair State University and interact with excellent students and faculty in a variety of subjects. They gain valuable knowledge of other disciplines and an understanding of the demands and realities of working in the music business.
