  Arts Day Festivals and Visiting Days for High School Musicians

Montclair State University's Cali School of Music and College of the Arts sponsor high school festivals for ensembles and informational events for individuals interested in our programs. Please contact us as soon as possible to begin planning for the 07-08 events.


Music Therapy Days

 Learn about music therapy as a field and career choice, and about MSU’s program. Highlights will include opportunities for networking; options for class visits; and open discussion with the music therapy faculty. This event will be hosted by faculty and current students in the program. Visitors may come for all or part of the day.

Band Festival

 This workshop provides an opportunity for students to perform and to hear other bands and to perform in a non-competitive atmosphere. MSU’s artist-faculty will present clinics on each of the band instruments. The Director of Bands will work with each band. Recorded comments about its performance will be provided for each band.

 MSU ChoralFest

The Invitational High School Choral Festival led by Prof. Heather Buchanan, is a non-competitive, adjudicated choral festival with emphasis on developing vocal and ensemble skills. A maximum of 400 singers will experience the state-of-the-art acoustic of the Alexander Kasser Theater, the festival performing venue. High School Choirs are eligible to apply for selection as either a PERFORMING CHOIR or an AUDITING CHOIR. A performance by the MSU Chorale or University Singers is also on the schedule. Written adjudications provided for all participating choirs and a VHS performance video of each individual performance and workshop will be available on request.

Applications are due by October 15, 2008.
